Things are going to be proofread a little more poorly, and fussed over a little bit less. The writing may suffer. The subject material will not. The pictures most definitely will not. Last not while walking back from Wildman’s, the local beer store, two new homies and I spotted a moose the size of a small backhoe. She crossed the street halfway, looked at us, and continued on. This is definitely Alaska.

Wasn’t this picture already on AGoodReed?

Pre-Alaska beard. Now mostly gone. Bummer.

Within a few hours of arriving the employee dorms I heard some pretty amazing quotes. When people aren’t working they basically sit around on two picnic tables and drink gross amounts of alcohol. Last night one guy drank undisclosed amounts of Canadian Mist whiskey before sliding off the side of the bed he was sitting on into a rather comatose position on the floor. Oh, but the quotes!
“Fuck, dude, it’s so fuckin’ nice out. It’s like 70.”
-Shawn (Shaun) White
“You hear about that Russian girl who just eats dirt? Saw it on Ripley’s…”
-Ryan
So I’m here. I’m in Alaska. So far it’s everything I hoped it would be and I have no reason to believe it won’t continue to get better. At 4:31pm today I clocked out on my first full day of work in over a year. It’s the best part of the day….
